Sunshine sequence – Atapa Krama one of the foundation of Vinyasa Krama Yoga system.

What you can expect: 

Heat, focus, discipline, strength, balanced dynamic, physical lightness, balancing the hips, comfort/warmth, face the sun / east.

Come to learn step by step this beautiful well balanced sequence from VKM – one of the many of VKM Matthew Sweeney sequences.

This is a ‘flexible’ sequence based off Primary series off Ashtanga Yoga. This means it can easily be adapted for different constitutions and scaled sideways to suit different physiological needs. 

This is a dynamic sequence, with plenty of jumps ( thought less than Primary ), and combines a number of re-balnced elements for the hips, shoulder openers, greater emphasis on backbending compared to Primary series,and many options for changing  postures to suit individual constitutions. It also encourage use of props and wall for alignment, safety, and stability .

Taking five breaths in camel pose or a full wheel can be the difference between a day that is steeped in anxiety and depression and one that is moved through with an open heart and trust in all that is in store.
Back bends are a great counterbalance for the posture we assume for almost every activity on a daily basis. We live most of our lives in a slumped forward bend and need to open up in the other direction. When done skillfully and consistently, back bends help you release areas in your body that feel intractable.
