I’m excited to share my latest discovery with you—Shoulder Lion – Skandha Krama II!

This sequence is designed to strengthen and stabilize the shoulder joint while offering support for the chest. It’s a wonderful expansion of the Lion sequence and an excellent choice for winter practice, as it helps to care for the shoulders, upper body, and chest, which can often be affected by our modern lifestyle.

The course will include a balanced mix of guided classes where we’ll explore the sequence step-by-step with detailed explanations, and self-practice (SP) where I’ll closely observe to ensure you're learning safely and correctly. If needed, I will offer individual adjustments to suit your body’s unique needs.

This sequence is not as demanding as many Vinyasa sequences and is a great way to build stability and balance in your practice. It’s a fantastic choice for those looking for a more gentle yet effective way to take care of their shoulders and upper body.

Beyond the standard Lion:

This balanced, accessible sequence is ideal for improving stability and mobility without the intensity of typical Vinyasa sequences.

A great expansion of the Lion Cub sequence, it can also be taught with the salutes and standing postures from Sunshine I, offering a more accessible alternative by skipping intense hip opening poses that many students find challenging. This practice is still excellent for enhancing backbends, keeping the spine flexible, and promoting joint mobility—essential for maintaining a healthy and strong upper body.

Course Structure:

  • Weekly Online Classes: Live sessions every Wednesday morning from 7:00-8:30 AM.

  • Mandatory Self-Practice: Every second Wednesday / the last Self-practice class will be open from 6:30- 8:30

  • Comprehensive Guidance: Detailed instructions, demonstrations, and modifications. Led classes will be recorded and available for the length of the course and 14 days afterwards.

Prerequisite: A solid foundation of any VKM / or previous Yoga Practice is required.
